Ice Busters celebrate anniversary of world record ice carousel, plan to go bigger in 2020

>> "The Ice Busters claimed the world record title from ice carousel enthusiasts in Lohja, Finland, and in doing so raised nearly $8,000 for the Aroostook County Meals on Wheels program, which provides local senior citizens with meals delivered to their homes.

The World Ice Carousel Association recognized the record with a plaque that now hangs on a wall at the Long Lake Sporting Club.

However, another group in Minnesota, led by the family of the late Sunny Zwilling, topped the feat this January in memory of their loved one, carving a 506.2 -foot ice carousel out of Green Prairie Fish Lake."

>> "Cyr expressed his respect for the accomplishment of the Zwilling family in breaking the Ice Busters’ record, and in fact wore a hat with the Zwilling family insignia to the hot dog roast on Sunday."

>> "The Minnesota group, on their own Facebook page, expressed support and appreciation for the Ice Busters that same day."

Maine - IceBusters Visit

-Chuck didn’t initially plan to go to Maine, originally scheduled for March. But, after that record attempt was delayed until April due to cold weather and the ice being 30 inches thick, tickets to the area’s small airport dropped in price and Zwilling decided to go. - McRecord | Dec 30 2018

A nice article mentioning our event and how they plan on completing another new World Ice Carousel Record for 2019. - From SINCLAIR, Maine. USA - The Maine Ice Busters Give us spome well-deserved competition for the world's largest ice carousel.

 The World Ice Carousel Association recognized the record 427-foot diameter creation with a plaque that now hangs on a wall at the Long Lake Sporting Club.  Another group in Minnesota topped the feat this January, however, carving a 506.2 -foot ice carousel out of Green Prairie Fish Lake.

“We just want people to get out there and celebrate life,” Cyr said. “It’s not just for the Ice Busters, it’s for everybody. We’re trying to promote positivity in the world, and not even talk about the negativity.”
