minnelisa - Minnesotans get creative in ways to get outside in the winter—and raise money for good causes, too. This giant ice carousel is a perfect example. Organizers cut a 720-foot circle in the ice that had a slow rotation to it. There was a 220-foot inner carousel spinning in the opposite direction. Add in a bonfire, s’mores, sleds, curling lessons and more, and it was a lovely Ice Carousel Extravaganza (aka Sunny Zwilling Memorial I.C.E. Fest) yesterday on Green Prairie Fish Lake. The ice was two-feet thick on this lake between Little Falls and Camp Ripley and quite a feat to engineer. We loved the happy shrieks, the campfire smells, the chance to handle a curling stone (holy moly, they’re heavy!), and the crunchy sound of walking across the lake. #icecarousel #icefestival #spinningiceforkids #exploreminnesota centralminnesota @visitlittlefallsmn
twincitiesfundad - My family and I had such an amazing time last weekend in @visitlittlefallsmn - They had their annual I.C.E. (Ice Carousel Extravaganza) Fest where they carved a massive circle (was a world record!) into a frozen lake. It spins slowly in a circle (hence the carousel) & is a magical experience. They also had a ton of family-friendly fun activities on the frozen lake such as antique snowmobile rides, open skate, Finnish Sled Rides, Curling, and much more. A free event that raises money for charity, you need to check it out next year!"
